School Board Vacancy and Provisional Appointment

Miller Creek School District is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a vacancy on the school board that has occurred due to the recent resignation of Trustee Barrett Schaefer.

The vacancy will be filled by Board appointment for a term beginning in October 2022 and ending in November 2024.

School board members are locally elected public officials charged with governing their community’s public schools. They set the direction for the schools and establish the structure to support district operations. Board meetings for the Miller Creek School District are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month, from 6:00 PM until approximately 9:00 PM.

Interested persons who live within the boundaries of the Miller Creek School District and who are registered voters are welcome to apply for the one existing vacancy. Applicants will be interviewed in open session by the four current Governing Board members at a schedule meeting scheduled for that purpose.

NEW DATE for Provisional applicant interviews: 6:00pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Applications for the open seat on the Governing Board will be available Tuesday, August 23, 2022 through Wednesday, September 28, 2022 between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm in the District Office, located at 380 Nova Albion.

All applications will become public records upon receipt by the District.

An information meeting for interested applicants will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Boardroom at the District Office and repeated on Friday, September 16th from 8:30-10:00am.

Applications are due to the District Office by 4:30pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2022
