  • All students have the right to attend safe, secure, and peaceful schools that are free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, violence, and intimidation
  • All students have the opportunity to participate in any programs or activities offered by the school, and cannot be discriminated against based on race, nationality, gender, religion, immigration status, or other characteristics

School Enrollment and Student Information

  • Schools must accept a variety of documents from a student’s parent/guardian to demonstrate proof of age or residency
  • Families and students are NEVER required to provide social security numbers or information about immigration status to school or district staff
  • Federal and California laws protect student education records and personal information
  • Student records and information will NOT be shared without parental consent unless the release of information is for educational purposes, is already publicly available, or is in response to a court order or subpoena

Fire Prevention - September and October

Whenever we enter the peak of wildfire season in Marin, September/October, hot, dry weather and strong winds increase the risk of fires. Power outages are likely and can be hazardous for individuals who rely on oxygen, refrigerated medications, or other electric medical devices. Smoke and poor air quality are also common during fire season and can exacerbate asthma, COPD, or heart conditions.

Recommendations for our families are to keep medicines easily accessible, use a well-fitting mask outdoors, and remain indoors with filtered air whenever possible. Extreme heat may happen at the same time, putting older adults and people with chronic illnesses at higher risk. Find tips and resources
