Important Information - District Residency
Attendance areas have been established for each school. Students may be assigned to attend a school outside of their attendance area due to capacity limitations, to balance class sizes, or to make maximum use of available classroom space.
If students must be assigned to a school outside of their attendance area, students who enroll before March 15th will be entered into a lottery. However, students with a sibling at the site from which transfer is required will be given priority over other residents, if the currently attending sibling will continue to attend that school the following year. Families will be notified of lottery results and school placement by April 1st.
Students who enroll after March 15th will be assigned by date of completed enrollment packet, regardless of sibling status.
Find Your Resident School
Important: You can begin the registration process as soon as you are physically living full-time in the Miller Creek School District. Simply owning property or holding a lease does not qualify as residency.
2026-27 Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program Information
We are proud to offer a Transitional Kindergarten program for our youngest learners, giving them a strong start on their educational journey. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child as they begin this exciting chapter of learning and growth.
Who Is Eligible?
Children who turn 4 years old on or before September 1 are eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten (TK).
TK Program Overview
- TK is offered in an AM / PM model.
- Students attend either an AM or a PM class, not both.
- Not every school will offer both AM and PM classes.
- The AM/PM TK schedule will be:
| M, T, Th, F | AM | 8:29 | 11:19 |
| PM | 11:25 | 2:25 | |
| Wednesday | AM | 8:19 | 10:59 |
| PM | 11:10 | 1:50 |
Where will my TK student attend school?
All eligible TK students will be enrolled and assigned to a TK program within the district. Assignment may be at a different school than the student’s school of residence. A student’s school of residence is the school located within the attendance area where the family lives. Attendance areas are based on home address. Please use the District Boundaries Street Grid or find your address in the following drop-down menu.
How School Placement Is Determined
1. Enroll by March 15 AND have a sibling at the school of residence
- Guaranteed placement at the school of residence
2. Enroll by March 15 AND do not have a sibling at the school of residence
- If enrollment is within the school’s capacity, the student will be placed at the resident school.
- If more students enroll than the school can accommodate, a random lottery will be held.
- Students with a sibling at the resident school will not participate in the lottery if the currently attending sibling will continue to attend that school the following year.
- Families will be notified of lottery results and school placement by April 1st.
3. Enroll After March 15
- Placement is based on the date the completed enrollment packet is received.
- Students enrolling after March 15 may be assigned to a school other than their resident school.
AM / PM Class Assignments
Transitional Kindergarten will be offered in an AM/PM model.
Families who complete enrollment by March 15 will be notified of their child’s AM or PM class assignment by April 1st. For students enrolling after March 15, class placement is determined by the date the enrollment is completed and the availability of space at the child’s school of residence and within AM/PM classes.
Important Reminder
For the best chance of placement at your school of residence, families are strongly encouraged to complete enrollment by March 15.
For questions or assistance, please contact your school office or visit the district website.
