ELOP

Welcome to the Extended Learning Opportunities

At Miller Creek, we believe that learning doesn’t stop when the school day ends - it continues in new, exciting ways that help children grow both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we are thrilled to invite your child to be part of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P), a free after-school program created by the California Department of Education to support students and families across our state.

Through our wonderful partnership with the City of San Rafael, we are proud to provide three fantastic ELOP programs to meet your child's needs and interests: high-energy, creative after-school enrichment classes; a safe, supportive daily aftercare program; and the incredible America SCORES soccer and poetry program.

ELO-P offers enriching after-school, summer, and intersession opportunities that go beyond academics. Students engage in hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and confidence while also supporting their social, emotional, and physical well-being. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where children can explore their interests, build meaningful friendships, and feel proud of who they are as learners.

Who qualifies for these programs?

  • TK-6 grade students in the following categories may participate for FREE.
    • Students qualifying for Free/Reduced Meals
    • Foster Youth or students experiencing homelessness
    • English Learners

AmericaSCORES

"As the leader of this program, I am so excited to welcome your families to a truly special experience. This organization combines after-school homework support, leadership development, creative expression, and soccer into one engaging program. Students receive academic assistance, build confidence through poetry and creative writing, develop leadership skills, and participate in structured soccer practices and games. Healthy after-school meals are also provided to fuel both body and mind. At the heart of our program is our incredible team of coaches, who are thoroughly trained, deeply nurturing, and exceptionally creative. More than anything, they are completely student-oriented mentors who are dedicated to lifting your child up, celebrating their unique voice, and ensuring they feel supported every single day on the field and in the classroom." - Alex Argueta, Director
