Bio:

Vanessa Coleman joins Miller Creek Middle School with 24 years of experience in public education. Teaching grades Kindergarten through sixth grade for twenty-two years. During the last four years, she worked at Sinaloa Middle School in Novato as a Data Specialist and Vice Principal.

At the core of Ms. Coleman’s approach to education is the belief that middle school is a pivotal time for students to discover who they are and who they want to become. She is passionate about elevating student voice—ensuring every student feels heard, valued, and empowered to take ownership of their personal and academic growth. Her goal is to foster an environment rooted in confidence, emotional well-being, and genuine joy in learning.

In her free time, you can find Ms. Coleman cheering on her two favorite athletes, her high school sons, or spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Erin Dinday

Bio:

Erin Dinday returns for her fourth year as a member of the Miller Creek Middle School Panther family for the 26/27 school year. Prior to her time here, she has been the Principal of Petaluma Junior High School, the Assistant Principal at Petaluma High School and the Assistant Principal of Martinez Junior High School. She also spent nine years as a secondary English Language Arts classroom teacher, and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2016 by the Martinez Unified School District. 

Ms. Dinday’s academic background includes her BA work in English Literature with a minor in Spanish Literature from University of California, San Diego, and a Master of Science degree awarded by the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in Publishing.

Ms. Dinday grew up in the East Bay, currently resides in San Rafael and is a member of the Miller Creek community. She looks forward to making an impact on the students of Miller Creek Middle School for years to come. When she is not working, Ms. Dinday enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors
